A Look at the Republican National Convention-2012

At Wednesday’s Republican National Convention, vice presidential hopeful Paul Ryan gave his first speech. At first, many people were concerned about Paul Ryan’s name being on the ticket with Mitt Romney. President Obama has had four years to make good on his campaign promises and has fallen a little short. There is no telling if the Romney-Ryan team can make it. But, we will, by all probability, get a chance to see.

At Wednesday’s Republican National Convention, vice presidential hopeful Paul Ryan gave his first speech.  At first, many people were concerned about Paul Ryan’s name being on the ticket with Mitt Romney.  However, after his speech on Wednesday night at the Republican National Convention there are several people in the Republican Party that have changed their mind.

Paul Ryan is promising that the Grand Old Party will make good on the promises made by the Obama campaign four years ago.

Four years ago when President Obama was elected his campaign promised changes to America, and have yet to make good on those promises. While there are several people who have changed their mind about whether, or not Paul Ryan will improve, or hurt the Romney campaign, there are some that are still skeptical that he will fulfill this promise to improve America.

According to the Washington Post, Ryan said in his speech “Mitt Romney and I know the difference between protecting a program and raiding it. Ladies and gentlemen our nation needs this debate. We want this debate. We will win this debate.”

Paul Ryan is 42 he is the first of his generation, Gen X, to be in a presidential race. There are not many who are concerned with Ryan’s age. Given his experience on Capitol Hill, there are many who are excited to have Paul Ryan on the Romney ticket.

There are still some conservatives who are concerned about the religion Romney practices. Then there are those who were previously on the ticket for a presidential nomination who do not care. During the 1960 presidential race there were many that were concerned about John F. Kennedy and his being Catholic. However, the fact that President Kennedy was Catholic had nothing to do with his leadership of this nation.

Fifty two years later, it should not matter then that a Mormon is on the presidential ticket. Yet, it seems to be the focus of this election. Instead, the focus should be more on the issue at hand. The biggest issue on the table is the still faltering economy. What the focus of everyone’s attention should be is which of the men making the promises is going to come through with those promises.

President Obama has had four years to make good on his campaign promises and has fallen a little short. There is no telling if the Romney-Ryan team can make it. But, we will, by all probability, get a chance to see.
